There will be four area conversations in June. No registration is needed, and you can go to any you want, based on convenience of date and location. You can go to more than one, but the agenda will be identical, although the conversation will depend upon the people there.
They are: Tue. June 4, Cary Senior Center in Bond Park Wed. June 5, Embassy Suites, Harrison Oaks Blvd (same as kickoff) Tue, June 11, Crosspointe Church, 6911 Carpenter Fire Station Rd. Wed, June 12, Colonial Baptist Church, 6051 Tryon Rd. All are 6-8 pm
Please, Show Up and Speak Up

Let's hope the "Area Conversations" are real conversations with the people of Cary, and about many of the topics that we should be discussing at this point (general vision stuff, not details). The Summit was simply a one sided presentation of one issue. Sure, some areas such as down town may be able to use "walkable urbanism", but, for the vast majority of Cary that is not possible.
The area conversations should be a place for the town officials and consultants to listen to the people.

jrbrown, I fully agree. The Summit was very one sided, with a large amount of time devoted to Chris Leinberger trying to persuade us on one option that only applied to a small part of Cary (downtown and maybe a few other small places). He and Ms. King gave demographic information that supported Leinberger's opinion but were incomplete and did not provide information that would not support his opinion.
I hope these meetings will be a way for residents to tell the town leaders and staff what they (the residents want) and that information presented, if any, will be balanced. Buffy

Will it be worth our time, or is it just cover for consultants and professional planners to say they listened, while planning to implement their own agenda. The did a good job trying to tell us what to think at the Embassy Suites. Are they going to actually listen to us residents who don't have planning degrees and might not want to buy what they are selling? Will these meetings be different from the last (and first) meeting?

I can't speak for the Town Council or the consultants, but I think that there will be some major attitude changes. I can't be sure. We will see.
But one thing that I can be sure of. If you do not show up and give your opinions, they will not be heard.
So what ever your opinion is, please attend an Area Conversation that is most convenient to you. Express your opinion. If the town staff or consultants offer opinions, question them.
This applies whatever your opinion is. You may agree with Mr. Leinberger or disagree with him. But, what ever it is, your opinion is important and should be heard.
