Cary should try to preserve rural areas around Cary, or at least stop trying to destroy them. We saw at the most recent Town Council meeting (Thur. 7/25) that the people in the path of the proposed Yates Store Road extension (alternatives and the current proposed path) do not want this road going through their land. The road will disrupt their rural lifestyle and in some cases force them to move from their land. And Yates Store Road does not need to be extended.
That is just one example. Other example include rural areas southeast of Cary.
We are rapidly loosing natural land (farmland and woods), the peace and tranquility associated with them, and the wildlife dependent upon them.
We must stop!

I also watched on TV and saw people in the area describe how the rural atmosphere and wildlife were important to them.
Placing the extension of Yates Store Rd on the transportation plan will only encourage development and loss of the rural atmosphere and the wildlife and force people who want that kind of lifestyle to move further away.
Cary needs to protect the rural area, not encourage it's loss.
